01Overview

Vocal Bender is built for processing a single voice as you sing or record it. Its pitch and formant controls let you shift a vocal up or down and change its character, and the plugin runs with zero latency so you can hear the result while you perform. A modulation panel adds movement through LFO, SEQ, amplitude and pitch sources. The plugin ships with dozens of presets as starting points, and it is optimized for voice, though it can also be used on other sources for sound design.

Pitch, Formant and Modulation Controls

The core of Vocal Bender is its pitch and formant pair. Pitch moves the note of the voice, while formant changes the tonal shape that makes a voice sound male, female or childlike. A Link control ties the two knobs together so they move as one.

The modulation panel is where the plugin goes beyond basic shifting. LFO, SEQ, Amplitude and Pitch modulators can drive vibrato, pitch drops and sequenced pitching. A Flatten feature produces robotic vocal effects, and a Mix control blends the original vocal with the processed signal.

Recording, Live Use and Harmony Stacking

Because Vocal Bender runs at zero latency, it is suited to both studio recording and live performance. You can hear the shifted vocal as you sing, which makes it practical to tune the effect to your performance in real time.

The Mix knob also helps when stacking harmonies and doubles on insert tracks. Blending the processed signal with the dry voice lets you layer effected parts without losing the original performance.
