Audio Fingerprint Hit Detection for Live Drums

XLN Audio says accurate hit detection is critical in drum replacement, and that existing triggering tools often need heavy manual correction. Audio Fingerprint uses FFT-based matching to identify drum sounds, which the developer says helps the plugin pick up lightly played ghost notes while rejecting mic bleed and background noise.

The same analysis can separate stroke types played at similar velocities, such as a sidestick and an open snare hit, so the plugin can play back the correct sample articulation even when peak levels are close.

Setup, Sounds and Host Workflow

After inserting Addictive Trigger on an audio track, you click SuperStart and start playback. The plugin listens to the track for several seconds, analyzes the incoming hits and sets its parameters automatically based on the source material.

The included presets are selected from the Addictive Drums library and are designed for drum replacement. If you own Addictive Drums 2, its presets and ADpak expansions work in Addictive Trigger without conversion. The plugin can also export properly formatted MIDI to third-party drum instruments by drag and drop.
