Building Door Sounds from Layers
Unlock works by stacking sub-layers on top of a door base. A typical sound can combine a creak, a handle, a lock and a rolling or sliding element, each adjusted separately. This layered approach lets you build a sound that matches the size and material of the door on screen, rather than relying on a single fixed recording.
The library includes open, shut and knocking sounds, so the same door can be designed across its full range of actions. Because the sub-layers are organized by type, it is practical to swap one element, such as a squeak or a lock, without rebuilding the whole sound.
