01Overview

Tremolo Panner is an effects plugin from Harrison Consoles that creates tremolo panning, from subtle tremors to wide, room-spinning movement. It can also widen mono sources. The plugin can sync its LFO to the DAW playhead and tempo, so the speed and phase can be set for each part of a song and automated over time. It is aimed at mixing work, and the developer names guitars, synthesizers, string pads and vocals as typical sources.

Tremolo Panning Controls and Sync

The LFO display follows your DAW playhead, so you can see and change the phase of the LFO at any point in a song. Speed can be set by tempo-quantised division or adjusted manually, and the LFO can be synchronised or run freely.

Waveshapes include Swell, Sine, Triangle and Tri-Saw. Ramp modes include Swells, Linear and Gated, and the Gated mode adds step selection. A phase shift control lets you offset the panning relative to the rest of the mix.

Four filter modes (Cut Low, Cut Highs, Cut Hi/Low and Cut ALL) let you shape which part of the signal takes part in the movement.

Stereo Width and Mix Options

Tremolo Panner includes an adjustable stereo width control, which the developer positions as a way to add width to mono sound sources. A wet/dry mix control lets you blend the effect with the untreated signal, so the movement can be kept subtle or pushed further.

Because the settings can be automated, the same plugin can be used to give different sections of a track different amounts of motion.
