01Overview

Auto-panning is often thought of as simply moving sound from left to right. PanMan extends that idea with tempo-locked modulation, step and shape rhythm modes, and threshold triggering that lets the dynamics of your audio drive the movement. The developer draws on classic auto-panners such as the PanScan, bringing its trigger divider concept into a modern plugin. It suits producers who want stereo motion that feels rhythmic, musical and tied to the track.

Panning Modes and Rhythmic Control

PanMan provides six panning modes, including LFO, step and random. Step mode lets you choose a new pan position on each beat and sync it to your host, while Shape mode offers a library of custom panning waveshapes that you can also draw yourself.

You can design your own rhythmic patterns, which makes it possible to build repeating left-right sweeps, stuttering movements or irregular motion that still locks to your song's tempo.

Dynamics-Driven Panning and Vintage Tone

The threshold control lets your audio trigger the effect. Width, speed and offset can respond to the rhythm or loudness of a source, so a snare hit can start a sweep or a vocal's level can change the panning speed.

The trigger divider recreates a feature from the vintage PanScan hardware. It sets how many trigger events are needed before the sound moves to a new pan position. Seven analog emulation algorithms add saturation and an analog character when the plugin is driven hard.
