Sound, Precision and Filter Design
MAAT builds thEQorange around proprietary algorithms that aim for very low noise and nonlinear distortion. Its 80-bit internals, which use long double floats, are meant to keep rounding errors to a minimum.
The filters offer adjustable Q for bell and high and low pass types, and adjustable slope for shelving filters. Additional low and high pass filters can be overlapped to build steep brickwall slopes. Special oversampling is applied at 44.1 and 48 kHz to reduce aliasing. The developer also says the filters double the stopband attenuation compared with other implementations.
