Synthesized Drum Engines and Sound Design

Tekno's 18 drum engines are fully synthesized, so each sound is built from parameters rather than a sample library. The developer says the engines combine circuit modeling with DSP to deliver punchy drums.

An analog-modeled effects suite adds tape saturation, excitation, compression and a limiter/clipper meant for cutting through a mix. Each effect section has its own calibration options, reached through the Gear icons.

A Humanize function adds subtle variation to hits, which helps grooves feel less rigid.

Sequencing, Randomization and Workflow

Tekno v1.1 includes a sequencer with smart randomization, auto-fill, on/off and velocity controls for quick beat ideas. Variable step lengths, lane speeds and chance values can produce evolving polyrhythms.

Sequences can be dragged into your DAW as MIDI files for further editing. Individual drum sounds can also be exported by drag and drop to any DAW or folder, and Tekno can be triggered and sequenced directly over MIDI.

The Dice icons generate new drums with a randomized algorithm, which is useful when you want a starting point quickly.
