Super VHS is built around the lofi sound of the 1980s. Baby Audio describes it as a complex algorithm controlled by eight simple knobs. Six Lofi Effects in One Signal Chain

Super VHS runs six effects in sequence. STATIC adds a synthesized hum built from pink noise and a digital saw wave. HEAT is a saturator modeled on consumer-grade tape machines from the early 1980s. SHAPE reduces the sample rate, inspired by 8-bit samplers of the same era.

MAGIC is a chorus with a darker, more detuned tone than a classic Juno-style chorus. DRIFT is an internal LFO that creates pitch and time fluctuations, from natural to more extreme. WASH is a grainy hall reverb modeled on digital rack effects of the VHS era.

MIX sets the wet/dry balance and OUTPUT controls the global level.

Using Super VHS on Different Sources

Super VHS has no preset browser. Baby Audio built it for working with the controls directly, so you can shape a sound by turning the knobs rather than auditioning presets.
