01Overview

SuperTap is Waves' delay plugin built around the sound of multi-head tape echo. Its six independent stereo delay lines let you shape each repeat separately, with delay times up to 4958 ms, tap delay, or sync to the host tempo. Filter curves, advanced feedback including self-oscillation, and modulation give you control over tone and movement. The plugin is available in VST2, AU and AAX formats for Windows and macOS.

Six Delay Lines and Tone Shaping

SuperTap runs six independent delay lines, and each one is full-function, so every line can carry its own timing, feedback and tone. Each line can be tailored with one of six filter curves, which lets you darken a repeat or keep it bright while the others sit back.

The feedback section includes advanced options, including self-oscillation. Self-oscillating feedback turns the delay into a sound source in its own right, useful for atmospheric textures and rhythmic effects.

Rhythm, Modulation and Panning

Delay times can be set in milliseconds, tapped in, or synced to the host tempo. The 6x tap tempo button makes it practical to build polyrhythmic delays, where the lines repeat at different rhythmic subdivisions.

Modulation adds chorusing to the delayed signal for lush, moving echoes. Rotation-based panning spreads the repeats across the stereo field while preserving the level of the right and left channels.
