Sound Sources and Character

The patches are based on five recorded instruments: a Tenayo AutoHarp, a Romanian Toy Harp, a Baton Rouge Soprano Ukulele, a Chinese Violin and a Squier Bass. Together they cover light, percussive plucks and bowed tones.

AudioThing says the collection goes beyond straight string sounds into synth-like pads, soundscapes and drones, with effects derived from the string samples. That range makes it useful for both melodic parts and textural layers.

Modulation and Playing Use

According to AudioThing, the modulation wheel is assigned to a different parameter in each patch. Because the control changes function from instrument to instrument, it is worth checking the mapping on each patch before performing.

The collection is delivered as Kontakt instruments, so it runs inside Kontakt and needs the full version of Kontakt 4 or higher. The free Kontakt Player only runs it in demo mode.
