StereoSavage 2: Stereo Width and Imaging Plugin by Plugin Boutique Free Download

The plugin offers four modes for generating stereo from mono: Detune, Delay, Reflect and Split. Detune is aimed at wide vocal leads, backing choirs, synths and guitars. Delay pans or widens a sound by offsetting one channel in time, which suits percussive parts. Reflect adds early reflections to make a sound feel stereo without added movement. Split divides the signal into several frequency bands and pans each one left or right.

For placement, Width can narrow a sound so other elements take focus or widen it beyond its natural spread. The Pre button moves panning ahead of the width stage, which allows more dramatic pan sweeps with some out-of-phase enhancement.

Rotation pans the centre signal while leaving the sides in place. Plugin Boutique gives the example of a drum loop with reverb: the drums move left and right while the reverb stays put. The LFO function adds modulation to key controls, with sync available to keep movement locked to your track.

The goniometer and phase correlation meter help you check mono compatibility. The MONO button in the output section lets you hear the mix in mono. Bass Bypass passes low frequencies through unprocessed so the low end stays solid, and the gain knob can compensate for level changes caused by the stereo processing. Version 2 also adds a mono bass option that sums the bass line into a single mono signal.
