01Overview

Spacerek is built around a hybrid algorithm. Early reflections come from D16's proprietary Virtual Space Reverb engine, which models real-world spaces along with the placement of speakers and microphones used to capture them. Late reflections are generated by a dynamic delay network that blends into that early-reflection layer. Independent pre-delay controls for early and late reflections let you shape the start time of each layer, and a three-channel mixer balances the direct signal, early reflections and late reflections.

Room Models and Stereo Character

Spacerek includes 114 reverb models covering halls, towers, chambers, tunnels and other spaces. Several of them are variants of the same room, each with a different microphone or speaker setup, so you can choose a capture style rather than only a room size.

Each reverb model is pre-configured for either left-right or mid-side stereo operation. The mode is set by the model you select, so changing rooms also changes how the stereo field is handled. The balance control for each channel then lets you adjust width and spatial placement from there.

Mixing Controls: Tilt EQ, Low Cut and Mid/Side Filtering

The three-channel mixer gives separate volume and balance control over the direct signal, early reflections and late reflections, which makes it straightforward to set how much of the room you hear against the dry sound.

Tilt EQ tilts the tail toward lows or highs. The Low Cut filter can be activated independently on the mid and/or side components, which is useful for removing low-end buildup from the reverb tail without thinning out the dry signal. MIDI Learn allows quick assignment of hardware controllers to parameters, and the GUI can be resized to suit your screen.
