Layering Drum Hits Without Extra Tracks
The core workflow is automatic. Snapback detects each hit on a drum track and places new samples on top of it, keeping them locked to the original timing. The developer positions it as a complement to EQ, compression and distortion, aimed at adding punch, style and flair that those tools do not provide.
For kicks, you can layer a click for extra attack. For snares, stereo sizzle layers can add width. Claps can gain natural tails. The effect also includes analog-style samples, vinyl air textures and foley effects for adding character.
Pre-transient layering places snapback samples before the transient of each hit. The developer describes this as a technique used by experienced producers to create a looser, more human groove.
