Wavetable Waveshaping for Evolving Distortion

Shaper Table uses a wavetable as its transfer curve. A 3D graph shows the available frames in the loaded table, and you click and drag to move through them. Because each frame has a different shape, the distortion changes as the frame position moves, which suits sweeps and motion in a sound.

A 2D graph displays the selected frame along with the other settings, such as phase, so you can see how each adjustment reshapes the curve. The table selector loads a table from the browser, and the popup button opens the table editor for custom frames.

Controls for Shaping Drive, Bias and Tone

The drive knob boosts the input signal for heavier distortion. Bias adds a DC offset before distortion, which the developer describes as a way to keep the distorted audio from sounding hollow. Smooth applies a smoothing filter to the wave shape to soften the harshness of the distortion.

Phase rotates the selected frame, and the overflow modes set what happens past the edges of the curve: repeat the wave, hold the edge value, or repeat with mirroring. A DC filter removes any offset the distortion introduces, and the mix control blends in the unprocessed signal at lower values.
