Transient Shaping and Sound Design Uses
Kilohearts describes Disperser as a way to shape the peaks and crest factor of a signal without altering its gain. Applied gently, it can make kicks sound boomier, hi-hats snappier or the attack of a sound more controlled, depending on how the transients are spread.
Pushed to extreme settings, the developer positions Disperser as a creative effect for synthetic wet basses and other unusual textures. Because the effect works through phase rotation rather than level change, it can reshape a sound's character while keeping its loudness largely the same.
