Replicant 3 Upgrade From Replicant 2 is an upgrade plugin from Audio Damage that adds new slice effects, a redesigned interface and an updated preset manager to Replicant 2 for real-time rhythmic slicing and sequencing.
Replicant 3 Upgrade From Replicant 2 is aimed at existing Replicant 2 owners who want the newer version without buying the full product. The upgrade keeps the Replicant approach of slicing and re-sequencing audio in real time, and adds more slice effects, a more flexible step engine and a new preset manager. Audio Damage describes the plugin as a rebuild from the ground up, taking advantage of DSP advances made since the original release.
The original STUTTER slice effect is joined by DELAY, REDUKT and RINGMOD slice effects. Event FX gains an ENVELOPE option for cross-fading between slices.
The REPLICATOR engine now runs from 3 to 16 steps per measure. The SIZE control offers several size modes, from dotted notes through to nontuplets, giving more control over rhythmic subdivision.
Replicant 3 includes an all-new, easier-to-understand interface. A manual trigger is available for touchscreens, and MIDI trigger support allows full non-sequenced control of the slicing engine.
The new preset manager uses XML-based presets that work across platforms and plugin formats.
