PowerWoodwinds is a virtual instrument by MeldaProduction that provides orchestral woodwind sounds for music production. It is available in VST3, VST2, AU and AAX formats for Windows and macOS.
PowerWoodwinds is built for producers who want woodwind arrangements without running a full orchestral setup. The instrument pairs natural woodwind tones with a more contemporary character, and its interface is designed to keep you moving while writing. It works across genres, from ambient and pop-rock to film and trailer scoring. Because it is a plugin, it loads into a compatible host on either Windows or macOS.
PowerWoodwinds offers a range of articulations, from smooth legato to crisp staccato. You can switch between them during a performance using the low keys of your keyboard, or enable several at once.
Each articulation has independent pitch and volume settings, which makes layering straightforward. Every articulation also has access to its own detailed envelope settings, so you can shape attack and release per articulation.
The Creative tab moves the woodwinds beyond their acoustic character. The developer describes options including Convolution for a synth-like quality, Frequency Modulation, harmonic control and Diffusion.
The effects section includes a reverb with five room and hall types, an advanced delay, a five-band EQ, Motion FX, Distortion, Chorus, Modulation and LoFi, so the instrument can be finished within its own interface.

PowerWoodwinds is available in VST3, VST2, AU and AAX formats.
PowerWoodwinds supports Windows and macOS. The Windows version requires Windows 8, 10 or 11 (64-bit), and the macOS version requires macOS 10.14 or newer (64-bit), with native Apple Silicon support.
You need a 64-bit host that supports VST, VST3, AU or AAX, depending on the format you install, and an Intel/AMD processor with SSE2 support, or an Intel/AMD/M1 processor on macOS.
If you already own MSoundFactory or MSoundFactoryLE, PowerWoodwinds can be downloaded free through MPluginManager. It can also be purchased separately for use with the free MSoundFactory Player.
