Vintage Echo Tones and Analog Character

EchoBoy starts with a library of echo styles modeled on vintage hardware. You can pick a tone that suits the mix, then adjust saturation to push it toward warm tape warmth or harder distortion.

The Studio Tape style is based on the Ampex ATR-102 half-inch two-track machine. Tape flutter and diffusion controls add movement and a reverb-like spread. Soundtoys says the plugin holds up when driven hard, which makes it useful for vocals and drums as well as more obvious effects.

Timing, Groove and Rhythm Echo Mode

EchoBoy can lock delay times to a musical note value and your song tempo. Groove, Feel and Accent controls let you make repeats rush or drag against the beat, or add shuffle and swing to match a track's feel.

Rhythm Echo mode lets you place up to 16 taps on a graph, set their timing and shape their loudness with the Shape control. This makes it suited to rhythmic delay patterns that go beyond a standard echo.
