Modeling Seven Optical Compressors
UVI says it measured and analyzed each of the seven hardware units and examined the circuit stages to isolate the traits that give each one its sound. The developer describes its approach as combining nonlinear programming with reverse engineering, calibrating its models to match how the original units behave.
The result is a set of distinct compression characters rather than a single generic optical setting. Switching between them lets you audition how different units respond to the same source.
