How the Lookahead Peak Limiter Works
Minimal System Group says the limiter uses a lookahead peak algorithm. Lookahead means the processor analyzes incoming peaks before they reach the output, so it can reduce them in a controlled way rather than reacting only once a peak has already arrived.
The developer presents this as a way to increase production master levels with precise control. For mastering work, that control is the main point: pushing loudness up while keeping the processed signal clean and high in resolution.
