Nightmare Violin is a sample-based violin library built for dark and tense music. Soundiron describes its articulations as eerie and unsettling, covering pizzicato, ponticello, ricochets and tremolos. The library also includes 40 ambient pads, soundscapes and atmospheres. Articulations and Textural Sounds for Dark Scoring

The core of Nightmare Violin is its set of violin articulations. Soundiron lists pizzicato swarms, weaving ponticello sustains, haunting ricochets and tremolos with six round-robin variations. These can be layered and cross-faded inside Kontakt, so you can shape tension across a cue.

The library adds 40 pads, drones and atmospheres. These are intended for building dark, immersive beds beneath the solo violin sounds, and they work as a separate layer for sound design.

Kontakt Controls, Presets and Effects

Nightmare Violin ships with 21 Kontakt 6.2.2 .nki instrument presets and 12 Decent Sampler presets. The Kontakt interface offers automation-ready controls for swell, attack, release, vibrato, filter, pitch and articulation switching.

An LFO system, 12 filters, an arpeggiator and a key and scale lock are included. The modular FX rack provides 27 DSP effect modules across eight slots, and the reverb section includes convolution impulses for rooms, halls and special effect spaces.
