Montclarion Hall Grand Piano: Kontakt Piano Instrument by Soundiron

The piano was recorded in wide stereo from three distances: a close pair for intimate playing, a mid microphone at 6 meters for a larger live feel, and a far microphone at 30 meters for a more dreamy texture. Because the three positions are separate, you can blend them to set the amount of room in your mix.

Soundiron describes the tone as crisp and solid, suited to classical writing and also to soul, jazz, rock and pop. Natural sustain and release samples, recorded at multiple velocities, support expressive playing.

The library goes beyond a standard grand piano. It includes three sets of tuned prepared piano samples, along with percussive pounds, slams, string scrapes, steel guitar slides, mallet and pick glisses, and plucks.

Twenty custom FX presets, 10 ambient room tones and 34 convolution reverb impulses are included. A multi-effects rack with EQ, filter, phaser, flanger, delay, distortion and amp speaker simulation lets you shape the sound inside Kontakt.
