01Overview

Lunchbox Amp Sim is an effects plugin in the amp simulator category. Kiive Audio based its amp section on one of the most notable British valve amps of the 1960s. The plugin gives guitarists a signal chain built around tube-style tones, with cabinet simulation, a transparent overdrive, a delay and a room reverb. Its two pages, one for the amp and one for the pedals, keep the controls organized during tracking and mixing.

Amp, Cabs and Pedal Chain

The amp page lets you adjust the amp controls much like a physical amplifier. Three factory-selected cabinet impulse responses are available, and the interface updates when you change cabinets.

If you prefer your own cabinet recordings, the cab bypass lets you skip the built-in impulse responses and use an external IR in your chain.

The pedals page provides a Transparent Overdrive, a Delay and a one-knob room reverb. Each pedal can be enabled or disabled from the signal chain section on any page.

Tones, Stereo Handling and Workflow

Kiive Audio describes the range as sparkly, jangly indie-rock tones at one end and aggressive drive for intense rock and hardcore sounds at the other, achieved by pushing the included overdrive.

Mono to stereo support lets you run a mono guitar signal through a stereo chain. The resizable interface and oversampling options add flexibility for different screen sizes and processing needs.
