01Overview

Kleverb is a reverb effect from the Swedish developer Klevgrand, built around a network of filters and delays. Klevgrand describes it as suitable for a wide range of material, from acoustic jazz to EDM. The controls cover room size, early and late reflection filtering, modulation, damping, diffusion and stereo spread, with decay times from 0 to 25 seconds. A built-in ducker lets you pull the reverb back while the dry signal plays, which is useful for keeping lead vocals clear.

Room Shaping and Reverb Character

Kleverb offers three room size setups: small, medium and large. Filters on the early and late reflections can each be set to a selectable type, so you can shape the tone of the first reflections separately from the tail.

Damping and diffusion control how bright and dense the reverb sounds, while the Stereo Spread parameter sets the width of the image. Wet signal modulation adds movement to the tail, which Klevgrand presents as a way to give static reverbs more life. A pre delay control lets you separate the reverb from the source.

Ducker and Mix Controls for Vocals and Leads

The ducker is a compressor that uses the dry signal as its sidechain. When the dry sound is active, the reverb is lowered; during pauses, it rises again. This keeps a reverb-heavy vocal or solo instrument from washing out the mix.

The Early / Late mix parameter balances the two reflection stages, and separate Wet and Dry level controls let you set the balance between the effected and original signal. Decay can be set anywhere between 0 and 25 seconds.
