Hyperion Brass Micro is a compact brass library from Soundiron built for Kontakt. The developer says it was recorded up close in a studio and hand-edited for balance. It includes a combo ensemble preset and four master section presets. Each preset groups fundamental articulations with real-time performance options, key-switch mapping and performance tools. The library is aimed at composers, producers and arrangers who need usable brass parts without a large setup.

Sound, Articulations and Playability

The library includes five master and legato section presets covering Trumpets, Tenor Trombones, Horns, Euphoniums, Bass Trombones and Tubas. Articulations include sustains, simulated legato, staccatos, triple tongue and dynamic expressions.

Dynamic sustains respond to real-time control over vibrato and dynamic transitions. Staccato and staccatissimo come in multiple dynamics with 4x round-robin to reduce repetition. Expressions include crescendos, decrescendos and swells in a range of lengths, with time-stretching, tempo syncing and automatic release.

The Easy-Lead feature switches between tight staccatos and long sustains based on how you play, so you do not need to key-switch between articulations.

Workflow, Space and Upgrade Path

The interface offers pro features and deep customization in a simple layout. Each section can be positioned freely within dozens of custom rooms, halls, chambers and FX environments. Adaptive Play Assist and Arpeggio systems are included for quick sketching.

The library is 1.1 GB installed (1.8 GB of WAV source), with 2,963 samples in 24-bit, 48 kHz stereo NCW format. The full purchase price can be applied toward an upgrade to Hyperion Brass Elements, which adds more articulations, true legato and orchestral effects.
