01Overview

FURY is a distortion effect built around a modular signal path. Its main processing is split into three sections, DRIVE, DISTORTION and TONE, and each section contains several modules you can mix and match. Heavyocity lists more than 700 possible module combinations, so the plugin covers everything from gentle warmth to harsh, lo-fi or chaotic textures. A separate modulation page brings in LFO, envelope follower and step sequencer tools, which the developer notes is uncommon for a distortion effect. The plugin ships with 128 presets sorted by instrument and use, from keys and synths to guitars, bass and drums.

Modular Drive and Distortion Design

FURY's core is its semi-modular design. Each of the three main sections, DRIVE, DISTORTION and TONE, holds a set of modules, and you choose which ones to combine. The library includes 29 drive and distortion modules in total.

The Shape page gives direct control over the modules and their parameters. Controls include a gate, feedback, and pre- and post-distortion EQs, which let you adjust how the signal is driven before and after the distortion stage.

Heavyocity describes the range as going from subtle warmth to hard clipping, with lo-fi crush and analog-modeled circuitry among the options.

Modulation and Presets

The Modulation page adds movement to the sound with an LFO, an envelope follower and a step sequencer. The developer says these can add subtle motion, reactivity or rhythmic complexity to the distorted signal.

The 128 presets are arranged in six categories: Essentials, Drums, Experimental, Guitars and Bass, Keys and Synth, and Rhythmic. They give you starting points in each category, which you can then edit using the Shape and Modulation pages.
