01Overview

DM-307 gathers more than 3,600 samples and loops into a single Kontakt library. The sounds cover modular synth drums, live percussion recorded through an analog signal chain, and processed classic drum machines. The library is built around quick beat creation, with ready-made kits, grooves and loop menus that can be layered, retuned and re-sequenced. Sound Character and Sound Sources

DM-307 draws on three main sound sources. Modular synth drums were built from custom analog rigs using VCOs, vactrol filters and vacuum-tube compression and distortion. Live percussion covers congas, bongos, small metals, triangles and drum kits. Classic analog drum machine sounds were captured through analog mic preamps and then processed with outboard gear.

The kits mix these sources together, which gives the library a consistent palette across organic and synthetic percussion.

The Grid Drum Machine and Effects Workflow

The Grid is a 5-voice drum machine with 8 programmable patterns. Patterns are built by clicking on steps, and up to 5 grid presets can be stacked in a performance multi, with individual FX, modulators and envelopes for each part.

Effects work at three levels: global Master FX (Reverb, Delay, Distortion, Modulation, Twist and Punish), Advanced Trigger FX that can be switched in real time with a 32-step sequencer, and per-sound ADSR, filter, EQ and tune controls. Tempo sync is automatic, and loop MIDI can be dragged to your sequencer.
