FabFilter Timeless 3: Tape Delay Plugin for Creative Sound Design Free Download

Timeless 3 offers analog tape delay behavior, and smooth time-stretching when you change the delay time. Optional Drive, Lo-Fi, Diffuse, Dynamics and Pitch effects can color the feedback loop. You can use up to six filters, either the original vintage LP, HP and BP types or Bell, Shelving and Notch EQ filters.

The plugin can also run up to 16 delay taps for rhythmic patterns, and each tap can be controlled and modulated individually. Feedback sound quality, filter sound and internal saturation have been improved in this version. Mid/side processing, ping-pong modes and a modulatable freeze option are included.

Modulation is built around a 50-slot matrix with drag-and-drop connections. The modulation sources include 16-step XLFOs, XY controllers, envelope generators, envelope followers and MIDI sources. Live modulation visualization shows targets and sources as they move, which helps when you are building ducking, wow and flutter or dynamic diffusion effects.

Other controls include curve control in envelope generators, transient detection in envelope followers, Smart Parameter Interpolation for smooth changes, MIDI Learn, and undo, redo and A/B switching. Per-component presets let you save modulation sources and tap patterns separately from the full plugin preset.
