01Overview

Electric Keys - Tines focuses on the bell-like tones and gritty bark of tine electric pianos from the late 1970s and early 1980s. Its sample library covers four models and includes release and pedal noises. The instrument offers a Noise section for mechanical artefacts, a Character section for hammer hardness, warmth and smoothness, and an eight-processor effects rack. It is built around hands-on tone shaping rather than complex synthesis.

Sampled Tine Electric Piano Models and Character

The instrument is built on four sampled models: the MK I, MK II 73, MK II 88 and MK V. The developer describes the 73 as having a raw bark and the MK V as having crystal clarity, giving you a range of tones from one instrument.

The Character section lets you shift hammer hardness from soft to aggressive, and the Warmth and Smooth controls shape the final timbre. The Noise section adds mechanical release and sustain artefacts, and velocity response and balance can be adjusted to suit your playing style.

Modular Effects Rack and Global Settings

The effects rack includes eight processors: Mod 1 and Mod 2 (Vibrato, Tremolo, Wah-Wah, Rotary and others), EQ, Compressor, Amp, Cab, Delay and Reverb. You can drag modules to reorder the signal chain, for example placing tremolo before or after the amp.

Each effect has two large main knobs for quick adjustments and fine-tuning parameters. The Globals tab manages polyphony, master tuning and pitch, and velocity ranges, and locking options keep your chosen global settings when you browse presets.
