Sound Character and Sample Construction
The instrument uses 979 samples in total, split between two cassette decks, with 244 samples per deck plus noise recordings. The samples are stored as uncompressed 24-bit WAV files totaling 1.32 GB.
Each note was denoised with a high-quality algorithm to avoid noise stacking when several notes play together. Some noise was intentionally left in the samples to avoid denoising artifacts. A dedicated noise control lets you adjust tape hiss independently and apply filtering, so a five-voice chord carries one noise layer rather than five stacked ones.
Four dynamic layers and a simulated round-robin add variation to repeated and fast notes.
