01Overview

BLEASS Tides is built around delay-time changes that avoid the warping typical of many delay processors. You can switch between a tape-like timing shift and a crossfade between two differently timed delays. Stereo LFOs, envelope followers and macro controllers can modulate the delay. An input filter section with low- and high-pass resonant bands shapes what enters the delay, and the feedback path can hold effects that act on the repeats.

Delay Time Behavior and Modulation

Tides lets you change delay time without the warping that BLEASS says other delay processors produce. The developer describes two options: a controlled tape-like timing shift, or a simple crossfade between differently timed delays.

Modulation comes from three LFOs, two envelope followers and two macro controllers. Each modulator can be routed to up to four destination parameters from its own routing panel. The envelope followers respond to transients in the incoming signal, which lets the delay move with the rhythm of the source.

Feedback Effects and Tonal Shaping

The feedback path has five insert slots. Each slot can hold one of 11 processors, including distortion, bitcrush, frequency and pitch shifting, ring modulation, filters and an additional delay. Effects in the feedback path accumulate across successive repeats, so each echo changes from the one before.

The Delay tab adds further control with an input filter, ping-pong behavior, feedback and dry/wet balance. Freeze and Kill buttons are momentary, which suits live performance and spontaneous effects.

Questions, answered

What formats does BLEASS Tides support?

BLEASS Tides is available in VST3, AU, AAX and Standalone formats. It runs on Windows 10 and later and on macOS 10.9 and later, including Apple M1 and M2 processors.

What do I need to use BLEASS Tides?

Tides is not a standalone product in practice and requires a host. It is compatible with VST3, Audio Unit and AAX compatible DAWs. The Standalone format is also listed.

Is there a trial version of BLEASS Tides?

Yes, a trial is available for the plugin.

What is the Feedback FXs tab used for?
