Sound and Character of the Angklung Samples
The angklung is best thought of as a set of single-note instruments, each made from a pair of bamboo tubes in a higher and lower octave, sounded by a loose rattle. The result is a full, clear note with a short sustain.
The library offers two main sound sets. The dry multisamples were recorded up close in a studio. The hall multisamples were recorded in a large open room, with close, mid and far mic positions that you can blend. Hall presets also include looping sustains with adjustable release samples.
Attack, offset, release, swell and micro-tuning controls let you tighten the sound or shape it into pad-like textures. A width control adjusts the stereo spread of the individual angklungs relative to one another.
