03In depth

Sound Character and Preset Types

The 135 presets cover the core sounds of dark techno: basslines, hoover-style synths, leads and pads. Vengeance Sound describes the basslines as heavy and the leads as sharp, with pads intended to cut through a dense mix.

The pack also includes 32 new drumkits, which are meant to support the pounding, sequence-driven grooves the developer associates with the genre. Patterns and sequences are part of the design, giving you a starting point for relentless rhythmic energy.

The developer positions the sound for techno, hard techno and dark electronica rather than chart-oriented production.

Sample, Shape and Wavetable Content

Beyond presets, Techno 3 adds 62 multisamples, 11 granular samples, 60 shapes and 14 wavetables. These give you raw material to shape new sounds inside Avenger rather than only loading finished patches.

Because the content is supplied as Avenger material, it is designed to be used within the synth. Use the included presets as a starting point, then edit the samples, shapes and wavetables to build your own variations for a track.
