01Overview

Leap Expansion - Latin Trap is a sample-based expansion for Kontakt from Native Instruments. Its material leans toward moody hip hop and trap, with Latin-infused rhythms, deep bass sounds and haunting melodic textures. The package is built around loops across bass, piano and keys, synth, vocal, guitar and other categories, so producers can sketch full arrangements or add individual layers to an existing beat. Sound Character and Loop Content

The expansion is organized as a set of loops rather than a single instrument. Native Instruments describes the sound as a moody fusion of modern hip hop and trap elements with Latin rhythms. The sound palette includes deep 808-style bass, haunting melodies and immersive pads.

The loop count is weighted toward bass and synth material, with 40 bass loops and 29 synth loops, followed by 23 piano and keys loops and 21 vocal loops. Smaller sets cover combo, guitar, plucked, mallet and SFX sounds.

Performance Features and Workflow

Native Instruments highlights playful performance effects that let you twist pitch, warp speed and slice loops from the keyboard. The developer presents these controls as a way to spark creative accidents during the writing process.

Because the expansion runs in Kontakt, it fits into an existing Kontakt setup alongside other instruments and libraries.
