01Overview

Drift is a large drum library from Wave Alchemy built around a warm, lofi vintage tone. It is sold as a Triaz expansion and as a standard sample pack, so the WAV files can also be loaded into other DAWs and samplers. The collection covers kicks, snares, toms, hi-hats, claps, cymbals, shakers, world hand drums and melodic FX, giving producers a wide palette for lofi, hip-hop, funk, soul and alternative R&B.

Vintage drum sounds and recording character

Wave Alchemy says the samples were recorded and mixed with tape machines, cassette recorders, classic microphones, 12-inch vinyl and analog processors. The library includes 1,358 samples cut to 12-inch vinyl, which adds surface texture and a crackle associated with pre-digital recordings.

The sample types are broad: 1,628 kick drums, 2,798 snare drums, 1,793 toms, 1,403 hi-hats and 1,132 claps and snaps. There are also 1,026 crash and ride cymbals and 803 rimshot and cross-stick sounds, so you can build complete kits in a single style.

Presets, loops and Triaz workflow

Drift includes 315 presets and loops for Triaz. Each preset can be previewed, used to build playlists and randomized, which helps when you want to audition grooves quickly. The full Triaz version and the free Triaz Player (v1.1 or later) both support the expansion.

The library also includes 911 hand drums, such as bongos, conga, djembe and African drums, along with 838 FX sounds covering melodic chords, stabs, vocal cuts, vinyl noise and foley drums. These are useful for adding percussion layers and texture to lofi and alternative R&B arrangements.
