Taurus MK1 Sounds and Raw Oscillator Synthesis

The preset page loads 28 multi-sampled patches recorded from a vintage Moog Taurus MK1. Each patch includes 3 round robin sample variations and long sample lengths, which preserve the instrument's imperfections and character.

The raw oscillator page lets you build your own Taurus-style sounds. It offers two analogue oscillators with switchable saturated waveforms, a switchable sub oscillator, a noise source and unison modes. The oscillators use looped waveforms recorded from the Taurus MK1. Preset patches can also be mixed with the raw oscillators to create hybrid sounds.

Effects, Controls and Presets

The effects page includes editable effects and reverb impulse responses recorded from an Eventide DSP-7000 Harmonizer.

The controls page covers mono mode with selectable note priorities, portamento, pitch bend range, keyboard velocity and velocity curve. Bass Pedals is monophonic, like the original Taurus. A custom script mutes the previous note when a new key is played, even with long amp release settings. The instrument ships with 40 presets and starting points that use the raw oscillator page.
