01Overview

Drumvolution is built around a Drum Engine that loads sounds from a large electronic drum and sound design library into up to 12 drum voices. Each voice can layer up to three sounds, with each layer shaped separately. The developer positions it as a tool for new drum sounds rather than emulation of classic hardware. It runs on Kontakt, which means it works inside the Kontakt environment and in common DAW formats.

Sound Library and Layering Engine

Drumvolution's sounds are drawn from a library of electronic drums and sound design tools. Each drum voice can hold up to three layers, and each layer responds independently to edits, modulation and effects.

The X+Y Pad lets you blend, transform and morph between layers visually. Four instrument options are included: Clean, plus Tape 1, Tape 2 and Tape 3, which provide tape-saturated versions of the library at varying saturation levels. The Tape versions were recorded to a Studer A80 tape machine.

Sequencing and Macro Control

The 32-step multi-track Note Sequencer offers zoom lanes for finer editing, and polyrhythmic sequencing lets each lane run its own length. Step-lock parameter and FX sequencing is available per voice.

Eight Macro Knobs can be assigned per voice to 42 destinations, with independent modulation depth per layer. Host automation and MIDI CC control are supported for the Macros.
