01Overview

BFD Signature Snares Vol. 1 is designed to be loaded into an existing BFD installation. It brings a set of Yamaha signature-series snares into the kit library, so producers can swap in different snare voices without changing the rest of their drum setup. The pack is built around articulation: each snare includes rim-click playing and is captured with several beater types, including sticks, brushes, mallets and rods. The developer says the snares were recorded under similar conditions to its Jazz & Funk and Percussion expansions.

Snare Sounds and Articulations

The pack contains five Yamaha signature-series snares. The developer describes their sound as tight, precise and dynamic, and says they work across a wide range of styles.

Each snare includes a rim-click articulation, which adds a sharp accent layer for backbeats and fills. The developer also provides a half-edge articulation intended for use with electronic drum triggers that sense playing position.

Because the snares are played with sticks, brushes, mallets and rods, you can change the character of a groove without swapping the entire kit.
