BFD Wooden Snares adds a set of wood-shell snares to the BFD3 drum library. The five snares are built from maple, cherry, walnut, zelkova and elm, and were chosen for variety in material, shell thickness and depth. Each one is captured with wires on and off, and delivered in a natural version plus two processed variations, giving producers several tonal options within one instrument.

Each snare was recorded with two top microphones, one bottom microphone and one side microphone. Mono room, room and far room ambience channels are included, along with two stereo reverb channels for shaping space in the mix.

The natural recordings give you room to shape the sound yourself, including adjusting the room balance. The processed versions are mix-ready and are described as emphasizing the transient attack, which helps the snare cut through dense guitar parts and adds punch to crisp snare rolls.
