Drum Kits and Sound Character

Sphere includes two drum kits: a DW kit and a Vibe kit, both in four-tom configurations. The snare is a Ludwig Black Beauty, and the pack includes Hit and Rimshot articulations only.

The natural versions give you the raw kit sound to shape yourself. The mix-processed versions are prepared for direct use in metal and hard rock productions, so you can get a finished drum tone with less setup.

Presets and Workflow in BFD3

Sphere is an expansion pack, so it runs inside BFD3 and requires that software. Every kit comes with presets that load factory BFD cymbals and hihats, giving you a complete drum setup from the start.

Because the pack is geared toward metal and hard rock, it suits producers who want to start from a genre-appropriate sound and adjust from there. The developer notes the kits were tuned to the acoustics of the room where they were recorded.
