Delay Modes and Sound Character

UFX DELAY groups its 20 modes into several families. Clean and Doubling give you straight and detuned stereo delays. Digital adds an 80s character, Dirty adds saturation, and Tape adds vintage wobble. Low Bandwidth gives a lo-fi sound, while Warm adds bass boost and Diffuse softens the repetitions.

For more experimental results, Grain produces granular delay, and Random Pitch, Oct Up and Oct Down transpose each repetition. The rhythmic modes, including Flam, Ricochet, Staccato Boost and Sequencer, produce patterned echoes instead of simple repeats.

The developer describes the modes as ranging from basic to complex to creative, and each one can be adjusted after selection.

Ducking, Filter and Finisher Workflow

The ducking feature suppresses the wet signal while the dry signal is loud, such as on drum hits or guitar note attacks. This lets you use more echo without a muddy mix.

Both the delayed signal and the input can be sent into the Filter section, which includes synth-style filters and character shaping. The Finisher section adds effects from simple chorus to granular clouds and rhythmic transformation.

Intelligent randomization can generate new delay settings with a single press, and the Small/Big control sets how far each change goes, from subtle variations to entirely new delay setups.
