TSAR-1R Reverb is a simplified reverb plugin from Softube that shares the high-end algorithm of TSAR-1 Reverb. Its single Time slider moves the sound from short room tones to large hall spaces.
TSAR-1R Reverb is the streamlined version of Softube's TSAR-1 Reverb. Both share the same true stereo algorithm, but TSAR-1R limits the interface to a single main control, the Time slider, along with Predelay, Color and the Mix and Volume controls. Softube positions it as a fast option for adding depth to a track without spending time on parameter tweaking. The developer says the reverb works across instruments and vocals alike.
Softube says the Time control changes density, diffusion, early reflections and reverb time together, so one movement sweeps through a range of spaces. Short settings produce controlled room sounds, while higher settings move toward large, dramatic halls.
The Color control shifts the reverb toward a brighter or darker tone, and Predelay adds a gap before the reverb tail begins, which is useful for keeping vocals clear.
Apart from Mix and Volume, TSAR-1R has only three parameters: Time, Predelay and Color. That keeps the plugin quick to set up on a channel or bus.
Softube describes the interface as extremely easy to use. Because the algorithm is the same as in TSAR-1 Reverb, users who want more control can move up to that version later.

TSAR-1R Reverb is listed in VST3, VST2, AU, AAX and RTAS formats. Softube recommends VST3 because some of its plugins have features missing from the older VST format. RTAS and TDM are no longer supported.
The plugin runs on Windows and macOS. Windows 10 (64-bit) or Windows 11 is required, and the listed macOS versions are Big Sur 11, Monterey 12 and Ventura 13.
