01Overview

TRITON / TRITON Extreme brings KORG's TRITON workstation into software. The plugin reproduces the original's HI synthesis system, including its PCM samples, five insert effects, two master effects and multi-timbral combis of up to eight parts. Its sound library covers the original TRITON presets and all eight EXB-PCM expansions. The TRITON Extreme model, the most powerful in the series, is included in the same collection. Original TRITON developers supervised the software to match the hardware's sound character.

Sound Character and Original Engine

The plugin is built around the HI (Hyper Integrated) synthesis system from KORG's TRITON hardware. The original TRITON offered PCM samples captured at 48kHz, two filter types, insert and master effects, and a master EQ.

KORG says original TRITON developers supervised the software work so that the subtle sound texture of the hardware is reproduced, not just its samples and effect circuits.

TRITON Extreme, the top model in the series, adds "Valve Force" vacuum tube processing and most of the newer PCM and EXB-PCM waveforms. It is included in the KORG Collection TRITON package.

Presets, Browser and Arpeggiator

The library holds over 4,000 sound programs, including every original TRITON preset and all eight EXB-PCM expansions. A sound browser lets you filter by instrument category and sound character.

EASY mode puts oscillator and effect selection, filters and EQ on a single page for quick edits. The full parameter set remains available for detailed programming.

The dual polyphonic arpeggiator includes 307 patterns covering melodies, riffs and drum patterns. The plugin has no sequencer, so arpeggio and pattern playback serves as the sketching tool for ideas.
