Analog modeling and voice behavior
Each voice has a Virtual Voice Card that models analog component variation in its oscillators, filters, envelopes, LFOs and portamento circuits. The amount of this variation can be set separately for each sound.
Voice cards keep running even when you cannot hear them. Envelopes keep evolving, so a newly played note on a long pad release picks up the envelope at its current level instead of restarting from zero. Oscillators and LFOs keep their phase, and oscillator pitch can drift slightly over time, as it does in analog hardware.
