01Overview

Space is a convolution reverb built for sound design rather than only realistic room simulation. Its impulse library includes intimate rooms, large halls, foley, textures and cabinets, including impulses by sound designers Venus Theory and Benn Jordan. Impulses can be stretched, trimmed and reversed in the editor, and you can load your own impulse files or folders. A dedicated LFO modulator moves the reverb mix over time, so Space can shape a sound as much as place it.

Impulse Library and Sound Design Character

The included impulses range from small and large halls to foley, textures and cabinets. Lunacy describes the collection as bespoke, with several impulses built for transforming audio into new textures rather than matching real spaces.

The impulse editor is the main tool for shaping that character. You can adjust the start, end, fade in and fade out of an impulse, change its playback direction and speed, and stretch it anywhere from 10% to 400% in size. Stretching a tail or reversing it can turn a conventional space into an evolving pad or rhythmic wash.

Modulation, Custom Impulses and BEAM Integration

Space includes more than 50 LFO tables for modulating the mix parameter, and you can create and save your own LFO shapes. This makes it practical to add movement to reverb tails without automating the control by hand.

You can drag and drop your own impulse files or impulse folders into Space and save them for later use. BEAM owners can open Space inside BEAM and run up to three Space nodes in serial or parallel.
