01Overview

CUBE uses a vector orbit system to move between sounds in a 3D interface, so a single patch can shift and evolve over time. The sound library covers analog synths, pads, percussion, strings and keys, and the developer positions it for electronic genres such as EDM and house as well as pop and hip hop. Eight sample editors each include an arpeggiator, filters, envelopes and step sequencers, giving producers control over how each layer behaves.

Sound Design With Orbits and Sample Editors

The core of CUBE is its orbit system. Lunacy includes more than 40 preset orbit paths that blend up to eight sounds, and you can also draw your own paths to build custom movement across a patch.

Each of the eight sample editors offers an arpeggiator, filters, envelopes, step sequencers, reverse, monophonic and glide modes, pan, and tuning. Four LFOs, a macro control and a modulation matrix add further movement. You can also load your own WAV or SFZ files alongside the factory sounds.

Sound Library, Effects and Expansions

CUBE ships with more than 100 sound sources and 500 presets. Thirteen FX modules cover filters, visual EQ, saturation, waveshaping distortion, bitcrusher, compressor, chorus, phaser, delay, algorithmic reverb, convolution reverb and limiter.

The Air, Threads and Rumble expansions add hybrid winds, experimental strings, and synth bass and percussion. An Eco-Mode setting reduces RAM and CPU use when the session is heavy.

What formats does CUBE support?

CUBE is available in VST3, AU, AAX and Standalone formats. It runs on Windows and macOS.

What do I need to run CUBE?

On macOS you need version 10.15 or later, and Intel and Apple Silicon M1 chips are supported. On Windows you need Windows 7 or later, 64-bit only. Both platforms require at least 4 GB of RAM (8 GB recommended) and 2 GB of free drive space, plus an internet connection to download and activate the product.

Can I use my own samples in CUBE?

Yes. You can mix any of your WAV or SFZ sample files with the factory sounds to build custom patches.

Does CUBE require an internet connection?

An internet connection is needed to download and activate the product. If you access CUBE through a Rent to Own plan or Beatport Studio membership, it runs through the Beatport Access portal and needs an internet connection every 30 days to validate your license.
