Attack and Sustain Control for Drums and Instruments
The core job of Smack Attack is shaping transients. You can emphasize percussive peaks to add punch and presence, so a snare can crack rather than thud. Going the other way, you can soften peaks to push an instrument further back in the mix, which suits hand percussion or a bass whose attack is too prominent.
You can also selectively tighten or extend transients and sustain. A sensitivity control lets you decide which parts of the signal the processing responds to, so you can target specific hits rather than the whole track.
