Shaping Attack and Sustain in Drum Mixes
The core job of DS-10 is shaping the attack and sustain of a sound. Attack is the initial transient, the moment a kick, snare or loop first hits. Sustain is the body that follows it. Raising attack adds smack and definition, while adjusting sustain adds gain and weight behind the hit.
XLN Audio describes the plugin as able to push a mix in either direction, from tight and punchy to huge and mighty. That makes it useful when a drum bus or loop needs more impact without a full re-mix.
