Rudiments is a Kontakt drum instrument from Native Instruments, offering hip hop drum kits with 16 patterns per kit that can be edited in any DAW via MIDI drag and drop.
Rudiments is a drum instrument built for Kontakt, the sampler from Native Instruments. It combines organic and synthesized drum sounds, each processed through outboard gear, to cover a wide range of contemporary styles. The kits are aimed at producers who want usable beats quickly, with curated patterns and handpicked samples that can also be pulled into their own projects. Rudiments was created in collaboration with Snipe Young and is part of the Play Series.
Rudiments mixes organic and synthesized drum sounds. Native Instruments says every source has been processed through outboard gear to give the kits a consistent character.
The developer positions the library as a do-it-all drum set for contemporary productions, with sounds intended for hip hop anthems, modern pop and trap rhythms.
Each kit contains 16 hip hop drum patterns. Patterns can be dragged as MIDI into any DAW, so they can be rearranged and edited in your host project.
As part of the Play Series, the instrument offers hard-hitting presets and real-time control in an interface designed to be quick to use.
