Vocoder and alternative modes
Beyond the standard vocoder, RoCoder's additive mode generates 32 bands of sine harmonics in place of a carrier signal, producing atonal effects. Keyboard control and polyphonic notes are supported, along with envelope control and portamento in the carrier section.
The combined vocoder and additive mode blends two engines, though it is more CPU intensive. The noise, tuned noise, and tuned comb modes build their bands from the notes you play, so the number of active bands follows your chord or note count. The developer notes that the tuned comb mode suits rhythmic material such as sequenced sounds, drums, and percussion more than vocals.
